I Think I Need to Wear My Glasses

Sunday afternoon was the family picnic for the group that my son is going with to Australia. We were all to bring a picnic lunch and would take care of last minute business and enjoy the afternoon.
I made a Broccoli Salad and some brownies and decided to stop by Publix for some fried chicken and our drinks. I grabbed a 1/2 gallon of lemonade and then saw that they had some Orange Pomegranite Tea, so I grabbed a 1/2 gallon of it also. While I was standing in line to check out I looked at the nutrition label and saw that the tea had only 10 calories per serving and thought that was fantastic! I drank two cups while at the picnic and since there was soooo much for everyone to to drink I brought what was left back home. That evening I drank some more and finished it off yesterday. I thought it was really good and at just 10 calories per glass it was a great find! After I poured the last of it into my tumbler I started looking around on the label for something that indicated it was artificially sweetened. I couldn't find anything, so I went to get my glasses to read what was listed on the ingredient list. Imagine my surprise when I could then CLEARLY see the calorie count listed as 80 calories per serving!!! Oh My! It was not artificially sweetened, it was loaded with sugar! I'm going to have to ramp up the exercise this week!

  1. LOL! Getting old really stinks, doesn't it? Husband was doing something with his cell and couldn't read the serial #, so he asked me...he said he thought I had bought some reading glasses. We ended up asking youngest son to read it!

  2. No reason that drink was so good! I know you were mad when you realized that you "wasted" so many calories. Oh well, it could have been worse!
