Either I am old or I am a guy!

I am just not interested in the royal wedding that is happening tomorrow!
Sure, I'll be interested to see what her dress looks like, but if I didn't see it for several days it would not bother me.
I am definitely not waking up early to watch, nor do I plan to watch after I do wake up.
I just have so many other things going on in my life right now to be obsessed with the wedding of two people I don't even know!
Am I the only one that feels this way?

Total Exhaustion!

It has been a very busy past four days!
It started at 8:30 am on Thursday when daughter and I left for her dance performance dress rehearsal. We didn't get home until around 2:45 and I had to have her back at 5:00pm!
The performance was beautiful as always!

I took daughter and one of the other dancers to the cast party which was held at one of the family's homes in town. We didn't get home until 11:00 pm! What a long day!
Friday was spent running around doing last minute things for Easter.
Saturday we got up and headed to Myrtle Beach to celebrate husband's grandmother's 90th birthday. It was a very nice party, All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended. I don't know that we will ever be able to have everyone together in the same place again

Easter morning.

Since it was just the four of us, I didn't go all out for our Easter lunch! I just made a ham, potato salad, fruit salad, biscuits, relish tray and angel food cake with strawberries for dessert.

Glad that it is Monday and everyone is back at school and work!
Now, I have to get food together for PTSA meeting tomorrow night!
I don't think I am ever going to slow down!

I had a birthday this week.
Husband did a good job of remembering my favorite cake!
I use an alias on this blog, hence the whited out name on the cake! Daughter found it really funny that there were only three candles on the cake... that's all I could find!
Daughter made a very sweet card for me.
Son had a friend drive him to the store for a card. When I opened it, it was signed from son and "Tad". I looked at son and asked who "Tad" was and he said the friend had asked if he would put his name too since he drove him to buy the card!
I love my in-laws and every year they send me money so that I can buy "something special". This year when I opened their card it seemed so familiar to me. I usually keep all my cards from year to year and so I went to look for last year's card. Sure enough, MIL had picked out and sent the exact same one! I told husband maybe she just wanted to reinforce what the card said: they really do think I am a "warm, caring and sweet" daughter-in-law!

A Walk Around the Yard

We have a very small back yard and it doesn't get much sun. But, I noticed that our lettuce is doing well. I had to pick a little bit for a salad for tonight!

I love my snowball viburnum. It is covered with flowers!

No big plans for the weekend. I am dying to get up to the lake house but with daughter's all day rehearsal on Saturday, that won't be a possibility! I will be glad when her dance performance is over!

Yes, You Are a Lucky Girl!

Today teen daughter had an orthodontist appointment.
I signed her out of school and off we went.
She LOVES the office she goes to.... they really are exceptional!
Every time you have a visit, if you wear the t-shirt that promotes the practice, your name is entered into a quarterly drawing. You get an extra entry if you have been to the dentist for a cleaning and you get him to sign a card saying so.
If you are one of the winners you get to choose between an ipod itouch, $200 cash or a wii.
Today on the way back to school daughter said she felt pretty lucky and thought she might win some time.
Tonight we got the phone call that her name had been drawn as a winner for last quarter!
Since she already has two wii(s), one of which she won, she is deciding between the ca$h and the itouch.
Yes, daughter, I would say you ARE a lucky girl!

A Birthday...

Yesterday was my MIL's birthday, so we drove to Myrtle Beach to celebrate!
She wanted to eat lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, so we went out for lunch and then came home to open presents and have cupcakes.

I brought cupcakes from a bakery down the street from my house. They were really good!

MIL has such a green thumb! These hydrangeas were dried from her garden last year.
They have such a small yard, but it is filled with pretty things!

The weather was beautiful and today feels like summer! Though I noticed that tomorrow is only supposed to be around 65º. Oh well, that's spring for ya!

A Few Friday Favorites

I have been searching for quite a while for an eyeliner that would stay put! I tired some cheap, some expensive and nothing seemed to work on me. It all tended to work it's way up onto my upper lid! Well, not anymore! This Revlon Colorstay really stays! Love it and it is very inexpensive!

I tried this ChocoVine back at Christmas at MIL's house. Don't judge me, but I LOVE it! It tastes like a chocolate martini to me! And just today I bought a bottle of the Raspberry Chocolate... we shall see how that tastes!

I swear I am not an alcoholic with all the alcohol I am loving! But I recently tried Firefly's Skinny Tea Vodka. It is sweetened with stevia and just a splash in some crystal light lemonade is to die for!

And lastly, the azaleas are my favorite plant right now. All the azaleas are in bloom in our neighborhood and it looks so pretty!
