Could This Be It?

After a couple hours of shuttling teens here and there, came home to a message from a former neighbor and friend that is a realtor. He "heard" we might be putting our house on the market and has a family that loves our neighborhood and is looking for a house our size. Would we be interested in letting them see it? They already have a contract on their house and are closing the end of July.
Oh My! I haven't called him back yet. This has got my stomach a aflutter!

Still waiting for carpet installation to be finished!
But did hear that the new piece has come in, just waiting for installers to call to schedule.
The new stove. What a nightmare!
After ordering it on Memorial day, after a couple delays it finally arrived last Thursday.
Since the installer gave an estimate of $500 to install, husband said "Thanks, but no Thanks!"
He thought he could find some "handy" friends that could get it done for less.
After seven hours(cabinets had to be cut and counter tops too), it was almost installed when I walked into the kitchen and said "That's not the right one!"
I thought husband was going to die! He said "How can it not be the right one?" I told him the oven door isn't right. Looked online and the photo is different from the oven that is in my kitchen. Long story short, I ended up keeping it, even though I don't like it, and Sears gave me 10% back to help ease my unhappiness! I just hope this house sells fast and I don't have to look at it too long!
Went to an open house yesterday to take a peak at a house that had just come on the market. It fit my criteria for "downsizing" but I think it was too small for us. It was so cute, and it will be perfect for some family, just not us.

This Is Why I Could Never Build a House

I don't handle delays and "problems" well!
Last Tuesday the new carpet was installed. Well, almost.
Those workers worked harder than anyone I've ever seen, but there were only two of them. And when 9:00 pm rolled around they still had not done the stairs or the master bedroom closet. So, worker guy tells me that if they were to try to finish it would be around 2:00 am when they would be done! And he didn't think we would want them working while we were all trying to sleep. So, they would come back on Sunday to finish. As much as that didn't make me happy, I said okay.
Well, yesterday they arrived and got straight to work and after four hours of working on the stairs (we have a really strange shaped staircase) they were ready to start on the walk in closet. But, uh oh, "Miss, there is a problem". Apparently the measuring company didn't measure correctly because there is not enough carpet to finish! So now all the stuff that was on the floor of the closet and hanging on the lower rods that has been just laying around in our bathroom will have to stay there for who knows how long! Except that didn't happen because as soon as they told me they couldn't finish, I started putting everything back, I was so tired of looking at it all over the place!
So now I am waiting to hear when the additional carpet will come in and can be scheduled to be installed! UGH!
On top of that I won't EVEN tell you what is going on with the new oven that was ordered!

Do You Think We've Lost Our Minds?

Sixteen year old son, who has never displayed an ounce of maturity, just asked husband if he and some friends could head up to the lake house, spend the night and come back tomorrow.
I don't know what he was thinking!
"Sure son, here is the key! Have fun, see ya tomorrow!" NOT!

School Dance Performance

This was daughter's last dance performance at the middle school for the arts. In fact, it was her last dance performance period! After three years of dancing every day at school and eight years of dancing 3-4 days a week after school, she has decided to call it quits! She is just worn out and feels like high school is going to require a lot more from her after school. She has many other interests that she would like to pursue and as much as I hate that she won't be dancing, I have to let it be her decision to make.

It Was Fun While It Lasted

It was great to get away to the lake house!
But, since we have returned I have been in full get-this-house-ready-to-sell mode!
Tomorrow the new carpet is installed.
New microwave was installed today.
New oven is ready to be installed.
Places that needed to be painted have been painted!
We are now at the point of no return!
And, on a good note, one of the houses that I like has reduced their list price another $10,000!
Keep your fingers crossed that this house sells FAST!
