Not a Fun Way to Start the Weekend!

Had to take diabetic kitty to the vet for blood work. Do you know how much fun it is to make sure your cat fasts for 12 hours before his appointment? He was almost climbing the walls he was so hungry!
Our appointment was at 9:30. Of course we had to wait for about 20 minutes!
Got the cat home and then took teenage son to doctor. He has fever, sore throat that hurts to swallow.
Strep swab was negative, but decided to draw blood to check for mono and run another strep since Dr. said he has been getting a lot of false negatives on the swab.
We'll get results on Monday, but in mean time he is on antibiotic in case in is strep!
Yucky, rainy weather early but now the sun is coming out
Happy weekend!

I Think I Am Losing It!

Recently I lost my battery charger for my canon eos camera. I just know it will turn up somewhere, but I really hate not being able to use my camera!
So I started using teenage son's Olympus point and shoot camera. The battery died and I have been trying for a couple days to get it to charge. I was getting so frustrated and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't hold a charge. Until today. When I realized I put the battery in the charger the wrong way!

Going to the lake house over the weekend was a great move!
The weather was beautiful and there weren't a lot of people around so it was sooooo quiet.
We came home on Sunday afternoon since we didn't take diabetic kitty with us.
Not long after we arrived home, husband decided to move some plants in the back yard. About thirty minutes later he came in with a sheepish look on his face and informed me that he dug right through the cable line. That meant no internet, no TV and no house phone! Teenagers were not happy. I told them at least we still had electricity, even though it wasn't doing much except making the lights work!
And of course with Monday being a holiday the earliest someone could get out to repair the line was on Tuesday.
We are not big TV watchers, but we love us some internet!
We did discover renting movies from Redbox. What a wonderful invention! We watched Secretariat one night and Grown Ups the next.
Alas, we made it through, withdrawls and all!
And the best part, the repair guy didn't charge us a thing!

This warm weather has me itching for a weekend at the lake!
Daughter has dance rehearsal on Saturday morning and we are heading out after.
Girls night out tonight!
Got my nails done in a pretty pink and now I am ready for some fun with friends!
What are your plans for the weekend?

A Good Book

I just finished reading this book over the weekend. I really liked it!
Now I am reading The Kitchen House for my "Sisters Book Club". My two sisters and I decided to start a book club for just the three of us. I chose the first book and we are meeting on a weekend in Columbia SC in March for our book club! No husbands, no kids, just three sisters who love to read and don't get to see each other very often!

Such a dreary Monday!
Yesterday was a beautiful day after such a rainy Saturday.
Today daughter is home with swimmer's ear! In February!
After the doctor we made a quick trip to Target. She found some rain boots that she just had to have. I bought wine and dish detergent too. It seemed like a strange combination of items!
Tonight is my neighborhood's womens club meeting, so I am looking forward to getting out and visiting with the neighbors! Plus we have a guest speaker from one of the local jewelery stores. Can't wait to see what goodies he brings!

Today is a Sad Day

Husband's best friend is leaving tomorrow for a suburb outside of Cleveland. He and husband have been working together off and on for about 11 or so years. Best friend's last day at work is today. The office is taking him out to lunch, all except for husband. He said he wouldn't be able to handle it!
I am sad too. He was a great guy, most of the time. And he was someone that husband really trusted and was a good "ear" for him! But, his wife got a killer job as the director of ambulatory care in some big hospital system and it was too good to pass up. I wish them well, and maybe we'll be making a trip north sometime in the future for a visit!
