The Weekend

Had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful, there were football games and fun nights out with the girls!
Our high school had homecoming Friday night. For a reason unknown to me, they scheduled homecoming to be the week they played one of the other high schools in our town that has been a major powerhouse in SC football! The coach has been there for over 50 years! I kept telling me teens that there was no way their school was going to win.

Well, I guess I have to eat my words! Our high school WON, 36-21!
It made for a very exciting homecoming game!
Teenage son with a homecoming queen candidate:

He doesn't wear ties very often, so I had his dad tie it for him so he could just slip it up a little and tighten it the rest of the way. Well, you can see what he did! Oh well, at least he still had it around his neck! I figured he would take it off and lose it before halftime!
Saturday we stayed in and watched our Clemson Tigers beat UNC! Whoohoo!
Then, Saturday night I got together for Pokeno with my girlfriends. Great food and lots of laughs!
This was a prize I won:
The sweet potato tortilla chips are fantastic! And the Chipotle Pumpkin Salsa, yummy!

Yesterday afternoon husband and I visited a few fitness centers here in town. We are trying to decide on one to join as a family. One branch of our local YMCA is located in a newish housing development that opened a few years ago. I hadn't been out there since maybe the first couple houses were built and had kind of forgotten about it. Well, I think I have found my new place to live! Forget about the other neighborhood where I have been stalking the house listings! I may just have to convince husband that we should join the Y there, since it would be very convenient to the house we are going to buy! ;)

There's nothing like finding out the day before the high school homecoming game that teen son was asked to escort one of the girls in the homecoming court!
I have spent all morning gathering new shoes and apparel, since of course nothing he has would work, according to him!
I told him that I knew he wouldn't like it but I would be at the game so I could take photos! I promised him I would use the telephoto lens so I could do it inconspicuously! ;)

What I've Been Doing...

I finally finished going on all my observation tours at Middleton Place.
I was glad to have that part finished and asked what did I need to do next?
I'm thinking they will hand me some sort of book with what to say during the tours. They would give it to me and tell me to become familiar with it.
Nope.
They hand me an inventory of all the items in the house and tell me to write my own tour!
So, in between everything else that needs to be done in my life, I am writing a house tour!
This may take awhile!

We're Kind of Related!

Link
My sister's husband's niece has been singing FOREVER! Just recently she signed with a record label!
And, even better, she has a song on the new Footloose cd! Her's is track #4 a new version of Holding Out for a Hero, that she sings and plays the guitar. And, she co-wrote the new arrangement.
I was a HUGE fan of the original Footloose and wasn't too sure about a remake! But, I bought the soundtrack when it dropped last week and I LOVE it!
My sister and BIL are over the moon about this journey their niece is on and I have to say, I am too!
I have to say, I have heard some of her other stuff and she is pretty awesome. Remember her name, because I think she is going to go far!

Life's Been Busy

*I can't believe that it's already October!
*Haven't sold our house yet! Haven't even had anyone look in a month! :(
*Had a fun night out with my girlfriends playing Pokeno.
*Went through Volunteer Orientation at Middleton Place. Have volunteered to give house tours.
Still have more to do before I give my qualifying tour!
*Totally enjoying this cooler weather we are having!
*Heard some people are having a hard time finding canned pumpkin, glad I stocked up last year when I thought there might be a shortage! I have about 20 cans! And my family thought I was crazy...
*Looking forward to the coming weekend and going to Clemson for homecoming.
