Teenage son normally rides to school with an 11th grade friend from the neighborhood. This morning, said friend just drove on by because he decided he wasn't going to take him today! No text, no call, nothing! When son sent text to the other boy in the car, he said that "Josh" said he wasn't going to pick him up today. So, I throw a coat on over my toile flannel pjs and we rush out the door and to school. The whole time I am praying that no one hits me because I really don't want to have to talk to a policeman in my pjs, even if they are pretty cute! Son is late. UGH! I understand teens can fight and have disagreements, if that is even the case, but at least be curteous so other transportation arrangements can be made!
I'm one of those people that likes routine and for everything to follow a plan, and the least little thing that causes my plan to deviate throws me into a tailspin! What does that say about me? Probably nothing good! ;)
We headed to the lake on Saturday. It was a goreous weekend and was a great break from the hustle and bustle of our life in town! Son was not feeling well, so he stayed in bed most of the time and daughter brought a friend along and they kept each other company. Not many of the neighbors were there so it was really quiet, but sometimes that is exactly what I want!
Today I have to take daughter to the orthopedic doctor. She has been complaining about a pain in her back and we went to her doctor Thursday, had x-rays on Friday and doctor referred us to orthopedist (?) for an appointment today. I am a little worried, but will wait and see what he has to say today.
It is supposed to be almost 70ยบ today! And the maple trees are blooming, which I am very allergic to and I am starting to feel the effects!
Well, back to my highly stuctured and planned morning!
Have a great day!
I can SOOOO relate to having to go somewhere in pj's and hoping that I don't have an accident or that the car picks that moment to decide not to work! I also get really thrown off if my regular schedule gets off track, so you're not as alone in that dept. as you think you are! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteI so like you and that would have driven me to distraction!!! I hope your dear son didn't get to frustrated by it and he is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted on your dear daughter and her appointment and enjoy this wonderful taste of Spring!
You really didn't have a great start to the week, did you? I hope the rest of the week is much better.
ReplyDeleteLet us know what the doctor says about your daughter. You can't help but worry.
Getting to the lake for the weekend had to have been relaxing. It will be boating time before you know it.
Pardon my language but teenagers can be such asses sometimes. So frustrating and exasperating to deal with one like that. That kind of drama has no place in the morning routine!! xoxo
