Remember, we put the house on the market over a year ago?
Last year we had no showings from the last week of August until the last week of December.
So, because I really do love my house, my neighbors and my neighborhood, husband and I decided that we were just going to take the house off the market and wait until daughter's senior year and try to sell then.
Well, I just haven't gotten around to calling our realtor to tell him to take the listing off the mls and to come get his sign.
Wouldn't you know, we had a request for a showing on Monday and I just told them NO. Then got a request for a showing this morning and went ahead and said yes. Then worked like a wild woman to get this house in shape to show! And just now, got another request for a showing for tomorrow!
It would be really funny if we sold it now, after I have pretty much decided I don't want to move and have started making plans for new paint colors and some other small changes I want to make. And, right now there is not a house for sale, that I like, in the neighborhood I wanted to move to.
I don't know whether to say keep your fingers crossed for a sale or no sale!
Why does that always happen? And if there's no place you want to move to right now, oh man, think of all that work to have to be somewhere temporary until you find what you want.
ReplyDeleteWell, its like I've always said, a matter of timing... we took our house off the market a year ago, as the market is so depressed.. we will be replacing it in a couple of years when the market should be better, but if you do manage to sell, you might be able to pick up a real bargain as everyone who is up for sale is fed up with the waiting around... so good luck and lets hear what happens.. all the best from across the pond J
ReplyDeleteJust had the same thing happen with my mother's house...been trying to sell for two years...two offers fell through and I lost my patience and decided to rent. Two weeks after the renters moved in we got a serious offer. Luckily the renters are two single guys in town for just six months on a construction job. Their entire collection of furniture consists of lawn chairs, a card table, and two air mattresses. If we sell, they have no problem moving across town another rental. Now watch this last offer fall through! Here's wishing you MUCH better luck!
