On my way back home it started pouring rain. I hate driving in the rain around here! People can barely drive when it is sunny, throw some rain in the mix and WATCH OUT! And watch out I did! As I was driving along the Mark Clark Expressway I was in the far left lane because there were a bunch on tractor trailers driving in the other lanes. I noticed one just ahead to my right start to sway and then swerve and then all of a sudden it was in front of me going sideways down the road! Then the cab jack-knifed(sp?) and it hit the side barrier and part of the front of the truck came flying back towards me! Luckily by this time I had slammed on my brakes and was just hoping that no one would hit me from behind! The debris from his truck landed just inches from the front of my car! Whew! Not a scratch on my car! I was shaking so bad when all was done I could barely push the gas to make the car go!
So, how is your day?

Oh my gosh!! So glad you are okay!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo scary. I witnessed a car go out of control and run into the middle guardrail on I-85 barely missing my car by a fraction of a second (it felt like) on Christmas Day last year! Had it hit me, it would have hit directly on my son's door and who knows what would have happened to both of them in the backseat. We were going to Charlotte to see my parents and my husband had to stay behind with his mom in the hospital. I could barely drive after that...know what you were feeling exactly! So glad we're all ok! Now enjoy some childless days!
ReplyDeleteI used to drive the Mark Clark everyday - changed jobs just so I wouldn't have to go over the Don Holt anymore. Really though, the bridge is not the problem - it's the crummy traffic jams from the 26 connector that back traffic up to the bridge & then some.
ReplyDeleteWith the sea terminals right there - thus are the large trucks too - it's amazing less accidents don't happen with the number of Conex trucks on the road.
I've had some very near misses myself on that road.
Glad you made it through without a scrape!
Oh gosh...I'm so glad that you're OK!
