We are getting our house ready to put on the market!
I really want to downsize. We have two bedrooms that NEVER get used, a formal living room that basically "holds" furniture, and a third full bath that just started getting used within the last six months!
Plus, after a while I start to get antsy and need a new house to decorate!
So, we have decided to put the house on the market and see what happens....
We won't buy unless we sell. We are enjoying not having a mortgage! I have found some houses (pictured above) that I would be interested in and they are soooo cheap! So, what really has me going on this deal is that if we can sell our house, we can buy one of these and still have money left to buy a little house in the mountains! And no mortgages on any of them!
The downside is that we have lived in this house for almost nine years. Our teens are 14 and 16, so there has been some hard living in this house! I had a guy come by this morning to measure for new carpet and we have a guy coming on Wednesday to clean the driveway and eaves of the house. I need to replace the oven, as it has pretty much quit working and the repairman won't even bother fixing it! They say just get a new one! And I have a little list of other cosmetic things to take care of.
I am excited about the possibility of a newer house, but I love our neighbors here.
Decisions, decisions!

Exciting! It would be great to have less home to maintain, plus have a mountain cabin in addition to your lake house. Good luck!
ReplyDeletelove the pick! and no mortgage, wow! that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe are adding on, and I know that one day down the road, we will perhaps be downsizing, but I am anxious for my new studio and a bigger bedroom and bath. I guess we all must embrace the stage where we are....
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you!
