One Weight Had Been Lifted Off My Shoulders

(Friend, daughter, friend)

Friday night was the 8th grade dance at daughter's school. She and her friends were so excited.
A couple came over before the dance for photos.
Sounded like a great time was had by all!
Saturday morning the husband and I headed up to the lake house for an HOA meeting. Since I was president I had to be there. But, after serving as President for two years, I am DONE! I told husband that I felt like a huge weight had been lifted. He said he never realized it bothered me.
Now I just have to get through this week and I will be totally free from some major obligations... secretary of the women's club in the neighborhood, and chairman of the hospitality committee at daughter's school. I was telling a friend about it and she said not to get excited, I would be volunteering for something else in no time! She knows me too well! But, I think I might just enjoy my summer before I get myself into something else!

  1. You will feel relieved...I remember being so overloaded with commitments, I was always breathless with stress. Two friends gave me things that said "Stop me before I volunteer again"....and I took it to heart! If I don't love doing it, I don't.

  2. I can so relate!!!! Although I have traded my school volunteer duties for the upcoming year for Symphony Guild ones. It never ends, does it?

BTW, the girls look precious (and so wonderfully, beautifully age appropriate!)
